Background
I work at Google at our Kirkland, WA location. I started here in
September 2005. I am part of Google's engineering division and work
on building cool new products. In my copious free time outside of
Google, I pretend to continue doing some amount of research!
Prior to Google, I was at Intel Seattle from August 2003 until August 2005.
My research at Intel was in the area of systems and networking
infrastructure for ubiquitous environments.
Before joining Intel, I was a member of the Internetworking Research
Group at AT&T Labs--Research in Menlo Park, CA. I joined the group
in October 2000. At AT&T, I worked on a variety of Internet
systems research including peer-to-peer systems, overlay multicast, and
IP multicast.
Between 1995 and 2000, I was a graduate student in
the Computer Science Department at the University of California,
Berkeley, where I received my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. At Berkeley, I
was involved in the MASH and BARWAN research projects. My advisor was
Professor Eric Brewer. I also worked closely with Professor Steve
McCanne.
Prior to moving to the U.S., I lived in Mumbai, India. I graduated
with a B.Eng. in Computer Engineering from the University of Bombay in
June 1995.
